Our profile
The Chair of Architectural History, headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Anke Naujokat, is a research-strong chair that combines research in architectural history with the education of future architects.

Your profile
We are looking for a highly motivated supporter who is interested in a long-term cooperation for all work concerning the external presentation of the chair (online/print). You are studying architecture (bachelor's degree or early semester master's degree) and have an above-average flair for design. Ideally, you have already gained some experience in working with web content management systems. If this is not the case, you are willing to familiarize yourself with one. You enjoy producing content for social media. You are extremely adept at using the entire Adobe Creative Cloud as well as Microsoft Office.

We want a bright personality with enthusiasm for solving design challenges and implementing them creatively. You are characterized by a strong ability to work in a team, a sense of responsibility and quality, as well as a high degree of independence, organizational skills and flexibility. Since you will also be taking on some editorial tasks, you should also enjoy writing small texts. You have an excellent command of grammar, spelling and punctuation in German. A very good command of English as well as knowledge of other foreign languages is very welcome.

Your tasks
A very varied range of activities awaits you. Your tasks include the further development of the external appearance and the corporate identity of the Chair. This includes in particular the maintenance of the website and the Chair's own Instagram account as well as the creation of notices, layouts, posters and much more. Furthermore, you will occasionally be involved in the preparation of documents for the areas of "teaching" and "administration".

Our offer
The position is to be filled as of September 15, 2023 and is initially limited to 6 months. If the professional and personal requirements are met, this will be extended. The regular weekly working time is 6 hours. The grouping is based on the guideline for student and research assistants.

RWTH is certified as a family-friendly university. At RWTH Aachen University, we particularly want to promote the careers of women and therefore welcome female applicants. Women are given preferential consideration in cases of equal aptitude, ability and professional performance, provided that they are underrepresented in the organizational unit and provided that reasons relating to the person of a competitor do not outweigh this. Applications from suitable severely disabled persons are expressly encouraged.

Application
Show us what you can do: Design a poster (DIN A3, portrait format) announcing the Chair's 2024 Pentecost excursion. You have a completely free hand in designing the poster – and you may also choose the (imaginary) destination yourself. In addition, write a short announcement text (max. 1750 characters incl. spaces) describing/advertising the excursion.

Please send the poster and text as well as a short cover letter incl. CV (one joint PDF file, max. 5 MB) to Verena Hake via e-mail:

We will review the applications received by July 10, 2023 and, if suitable, invite you to an interview, which will take place on July 17, 2023.
