December 19, 2022 | A merry and peaceful Christmas

A few days ago, we gathered in the library of the Chair to end the year 2022 with a Christmas party, which finally took place in presence again.

The DFG research project "baureka.online", which we are jointly working on with the department of Architectural and Urban History at TU Berlin as well as with FIZ Karlsruhe Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure, is moving forward with great steps towards the second funding year.

The in situ work of the DFG research project "Scherpenheuvel: Church and City in a Heptagon" has been completed so far. In the course of an interdisciplinary and international symposium at the beginning of September, scientists came together to present and discuss with us their research methods and their current research results on the pilgrimage church.

In spring, we hosted the exhibition "Vorstadtikone" at the church of St. Hubertus in the church of St. Hubertus by Gottfried Böhm. Our goal was to create an appreciation of the rather unknown "rock of concrete".

In fall, we made a valuable contribution to the faculty's "White Week" with the elective module "Sustainable Models", which examined the connection between historic architecture and agriculture.

Professionally, therefore, we look back with gratitude on a successful year; personally, on the other hand, we are more than concerned by the events of the "turn of the times" that was declared in February. In the hope of a soon peace we wish all students, all colleagues of the faculty and the university as well as all friends of architectural history a contemplative and restful Christmas and a happy and healthy 2023.
