The second and design part of the two-semester module was dedicated to the Campus in Aachen City. After the students' individual investigations into the individual buildings of the Campus, an architectural guide was created which served as a valuable basis for this design part. The address of the main building at Templergraben has continued to determine the campus area since the foundation of the Hohe Technische Schule zu Aachen in 1870. The area has developed from the university library to the Reiff Museum along Templergraben. Thus the campus shows a well-ordered showcase towards the town of Aachen, which was to be supplemented by the extension of the library in the near future. Completely different tasks resulted from the consideration of the campus areas behind the main building, areas with their old buildings, which have been neglected since the expansion possibilities of the RWTH in the northern outer area of the city. Together with the parking spaces for the employees this area has a lasting effect on the quality of stay on campus. The design work was supposed to give the main building and its structural environment an update and a sense of future in an exemplary manner.

The M2 project started in the winter semester 2019/20 and continued in the summer semester 2020.
