During the summer semester, students have the opportunity to take part in a building design investigation excursion that is a part of ongoing departmental research projects.

This offers students a chance to familiarize themselves with an historic structure over a longer period of time and not only gain hands-on experience in practically documenting a building, but to also gain deeper insight into scholarly architectural processes. Built in the early 17th century, the destination of this excursion is the pilgramage church Scherpenheuvel and its surrounding ideal city site, whose historical origin and background is to be examined at the department over the course of the next few years.

Particularly welcome are students of the Master's program "Planen und Bauen im Bestand," but students with other specializations, or Bachelor's students who are interested, may of course also attend.
