B4 | SM | The Golden Corner

In the seminar The Golden Corner, which is offered as a supplementary module to the bachelor's thesis The House on the Corner, we illuminate the corner of the insula in the city, its architectural peculiarities as well as historical and contemporary solutions to this difficult building task. Typologically, a distinction must be made between corner buildings, i.e. buildings with one corner, and head buildings, i.e. buildings with two corners. The design practice for the bachelor's thesis is enriched by precise urban space, ground plan and system analyses of the aforementioned solutions: These may help to further develop the contemporary free floor plan on the corner from a serial pattern design to an individual design and to meet its challenges in a confident way.
