L | Building Types and Designs II
This course constitutes the second part of the lecture series "Building Types and Designs", in which the most important historical typologies of architecture and city are discussed era by era in a chronological order. The focus lies on the terminologically precise decription and analysis of architectural forms.
Continuing the lectures of the first semester, the second semester provides an overview of the architectural typologies of Renaissance, Baroque and 19th century and concludes with a first outlook towards the architectural fundamentals of the modern era.
A script covering both semesters of the lecture series is available. Furthermore, e-tests are offered in L²P to supplement the lectures. At the end of the semester, the module will be completed by the written module examination "Cultural and Historical Basics I", jointly organized with the Department of Theory of Architecture and the Chair of Art History.
