About one and a half months of digital architectural history are now behind us. Like probably all lecturers and researchers at present, we have moved all our activities into virtual space. Many things were quite new to us, we had to get familiar with some things, but yet the non-physical everyday life of the Chair is becoming increasingly successful. This undoubtedly challenging situation has given rise to new ways of working together and communication, which we already value highly and which we would like to preserve in the future.

Digital teaching has started up equally in a very successful way: Our lectures take place in various formats, the first completely virtual seminar has begun, another one will start soon. We were even able to launch a student research project despite all the restrictions! And we also discuss design projects exclusively online: For example, we no longer meet in the cosy library of the Chair between masses of sketch rolls and coffee cups, as in pre-Corona times, but in the digital meeting room – although the named "props" have naturally been retained.

The fact that this completely new teaching scenario works so well is due not least to the students, who meet the challenges of the now entirely digital architectural studies with great curiosity, open-mindedness and a joy in experimenting. We would like to express our warmest appreciation to them as well as to the IT colleagues of the faculty and university who, under special circumstances, have paved the digital way for our Chair so quickly and at such short notice.
