The research module is concerned with the Gothic choir hall in Aachen Cathedral and its static system. In order to assess the stability of the pillar assembly, a chain model will be experimentally loaded with weights. The results will be compared with other late Gothic choir constructions. The activities will largely take place in the roof structure of Aachen Cathedral.
